Welcome to Ya Yang, this new address freshly arrivedplace Dupuy. In this small Japanese setting you will find savory and sweet specialties typical of the Land of the Rising Sun. We'll take you to this tea room-restaurant that's as minimalist as it is exotic!
Ya Yang, where does it come from?
Run by a couple of discreet and passionate restaurateurs (living in Bordeaux), Ya Yang is above all a family story. If Marina and Frédéric took over the walls of Marina's mother's (Moon Rice) former business, they also gave their respective middle names to this place which opened its doors on February 5. This mixture thus gave Ya (for her) and Yang (for him) and sets the tone for what we find in the kitchen, where Marina's sister also gets involved!
What do we eat there?
In this new tea room, we eat savory Japanese specialties: sandwiches made from sando (Japanese sandwich bread), deliciously breaded chicken accompanied by unlimited miso soup or even a salmon and avocado pancake soufflé. But also and above all, sweet (which can only be eaten on site unlike savory)! The real specialty of the house is pancake soufflés to be decorated with a topping of your choice: chocolate, mango, red fruit or speculoos.
And before marketing this new recipe, “we did a lot of tests, every gram counts and we mixed what we learned everywhere”, explained this duo, who followed trained in Paris and who flew several times to Asia to see the trends.
And What do we drink there?
Just like the dishes, the drinks are typically Asian. Frédéric and Marina have brought together the best Japanese teas and also offer hot and cold drinks based on Matcha or fresh fruit. Perfect to accompany your plate on site or to sip in the street before going to work or school!

The editorial team's favorite ?
On the sweet side, unsurprisingly, it's this super fluffy, soft, hearty and airy pancake that melts in the mouth and can be eaten without moderation. On the savory side, we really fell in love with the breaded chicken and its condiments (Japanese cabbage, rice, mushrooms, etc.), without forgetting the small (but unlimited) miso soup!
For all those who want to travel without leaving the Pink City, stop at Ya Yang to indulge their taste buds (and even their pupils). ) without breaking the bank (count on €9 for a pancake and between €12 and €15 for a savory dish)!
