Since March 5, Mamagayo has replaced the emblematic Papagayo. A very different establishment from the old one which offers an eclectic menu accessible to all wallets, but also evenings lasting until 3 a.m. on Saturdays. A special place located in the heart of Toulouse where you feel at home!
Le Papagayo becomes Mamagayo, why?
Their names are Marie (sommelier and former director at Number 5), Sarah (current owner of Les Terrasses de l'Atelier) and Jamila (in the restaurant business for 15 years in bar, dining room and former director of the Atelier de l'écharpe). There are three women who took over this Toulouse institution and to somehow make it last, they transformed Papagayo (which means parrot in Spanish) into Mamagayo. This "new" address is therefore a business run by friends from the world of catering, and whose aim is to be as welcoming as possible.
What do we eat there?
In this restaurant, you can have your breakfast there with pastries and hot (coffee is €1.50) or cold drinks; its lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with dishes entirely homemade and on site, not exceeding €18 and therefore accessible to all budgets; a small snackwith (for example) pastries and homemade lemonade; or even dinner with improved hot and cold tapas to share (or not) and other varied recipes that will please meat eaters and vegetarians.
And what do we drink there?
To accompany your lunch menu or evening meal, the drinks menu is also varied: red, white or rosé wines, bubbles and beers, aperitifs and digestives, but also cocktails without and with alcohol and even creations and Mules for €10…
