The sharp pen and the captivating music of Tim Dup will come to vibrate in Toulouse on the 19th and January 20. First at the Gibert Joseph bookstore, in which the artist will come to dedicate his new work, the novel I am made of their absence, then at the Théâtre des Mazades where he will give an intimate concert. The opportunity to experience the particularly colorful writing of an artist full of paradoxes and nuances, whose music is as much odes to travel or melancholy as dancing refrains to sing about life until the end of the night. All this, with the cottony-soft prose that characterizes him so much.
The Mazades theater transformed into an acoustic auditorium
Tim Dup's outings in Occitan lands are rare so you have to take advantage of them! Especially since the evening of Saturday January 20 promises to be a moment of sweetness and simplicity, all in piano voice. The one who has frequented the ebony keyboards since he was 7 years old will perform alone the most soaring songs in his repertoire, all records combined.
The opportunity for a timeless parenthesis in a bubble of softness and of poetry all in subdued lights. "I appreciate this formula on stage, it's spare, spontaneous and without an artist-audience filter. It gives an intimate moment without artifice or grandiloquence where the exchange is real. I have the impression that this arrangement reveals itself and highlights the songs" he explains.

The associative concert of a concerned artist
If not openly engaged in his work, Tim Dup is an artist concerned in his texts. "There are issues that need to be addressed, such as the climate emergency, gender inequality, and the need to help each other". Raising awareness, transmitting and discussing, "is already doing what we can at our level". The man, moreover, takes his hat off to associations, as he sings in Le club des 27, and explains it himself: "I like the associative fabric, without the associations, I don’t know where I would be”.
It is therefore quite natural that his next concert in Toulouse takes place in a charitable framework alongside Humanitaire Mboro, an association working in particular in Senegal, to which will go all profits from the evening. Also, the places are at the price of 25 euros with a free price for children under 12 years old.
Ultimate occasion before new horizons
This tour should be the last for a while. Timothée Duperray, in the city, longs for a break from the intense pace of the music world. Where an album is composed, sold, and performed on the road. span> "This job is magical but challenging, I aspire to escape from the frantic rush of going out, to be away from media life, to return to a normal daily life, with routine and schedules... I can see myself writing, for other artists or books.”
A desire which owes a lot to the trigger he had when writing I am made of their absence, the first novel by Tim Dup. "There is a total freedom in writing a book, the pen can go everywhere, bring characters to life as it sees fit and reach the end of everything. Above all, there is room for nuance and complexity. em>.
