The association Les Vidéophages invites the people of Toulouse to come and share a unique artistic interlude on the occasion of the 23rd edition of the Faites de l’Image festival. On July 5 and 6, they will discover productions, each more creative than the last. In total, more than thirty artistic projects will take over the Parc du Sacré-Cœur located in the heart of the Rangueil district.
A festival presented by a Toulouse art association
Created in 2001, the association Les Vidéophages works for image education, in particular by showing short films in Toulouse and the region. Initiator of participatory projects, it is at the origin of the festival which is celebrating its 23rd edition this year. As a commitment holder, the organization ensures an event that fights against sexist violence and harassment, inclusive and accessible to all in addition to being eco-responsible. The Videophages invite all audiences to come and discover images in all their forms in a reinvented setting.
An open-air cultural event
Each year, the event takes place in a different location in the Ville rose. This year, it is taking place in the Rangueil district, more specifically in the Parc du Sacré-Coeur. It has the particularity of being a vegetated bridge. The place is in a green setting and has shaded areas.
Using the detailed program, festival-goers choose the route they will take in a bucolic setting, discovering the different works. Productions are nestled in the smallest corners of the neighborhood: at the bend of an alley, in the shade of a tree, behind a building…

31 artistic projects on the agenda
Installations, exhibitions, or even short films, in all, a little over thirty productions come together, creating a rich range of works from the visual and audiovisual arts. The opportunity for the people of Toulouse to discover, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., the 56 artists from the local scene who have taken over the public space to offer an eclectic scenography. Each year, a theme is chosen. For this edition, the common thread is transshipment.
Different techniques come together through the exhibitions: photographs on tarpaulin, painting on fabrics, linocuts, collages…
Festival-goers can also enjoy concerts and performances ranging from beatbox shows to electro-punk-surf film concerts, including the presence of a modern Western orchestra.
Several creative workshops: collage, screen printing, DIY, etc.
Visitors are also invited to let their creativity run wild through different workshops!
They can learn screen printing by manipulating ink with their fingertips, grab scissors and glue to make a collage, or even approach photography from a new angle by discovering the old technique of wet collodion.
Aspiring artists have the opportunity to recover scraps of films, to give them a second life by scratching 16 mm films and even to create DIY projects in a visual experimentation laboratory. Finally, there is nothing better than taking a souvenir of the event with them by transforming a photo from their smartphone into a film photo, thanks to the Trigone collective workshop.
By highlighting various artistic forms, the Faites de l'image festival creates, at each edition, a lively and inspiring celebration of the visual arts, all through a unique outdoor cultural experience!
