Already established in the Victor Hugo district since 2020 with a delicatessen, La Nonna Lina is going even further by opening its takeaway fresh pasta shop near Place du Capitole. A real (and no less succulent) journey to Veneto, the native region of the maternal grandmother at the origin of this 100% family and Italian business.
A family story that began in 2020
Opened (7 days a week) in May 2020 in the famous and no less festive Victor Hugo district in Toulouse, La Nonna Lina is a delicatessen run by an aunt (Katia Garrouste, a former winemaker) and her niece (Mathilde Brefeghello), both Italian and who have been joined by another member of the family, Théo Garrouste, Katia's son and grandson of Nonna.
Together and to pay tribute to their ancestor, they developed the concept of the grocery store which offers Italian products of all kinds: sauces, cheeses and other tempting condiments, but also and above all fresh pasta for individuals in the form of pasta boxes cooked to order; and food shops from the surrounding area and elsewhere. "We have a lot of customers in Toulouse, Bordeaux, Montpellier and Carcassonne", the grocery store manager explains.

A growing success
Given the success of the store and the reputation of the fresh pasta whose sauces change every day, the 100% family business had to relocate part of its kitchen to of the MIN, the national interest market of Toulouse.
The goal? Keep the (small) kitchen of La Nonna Lina for the people of Toulouse who want to take away or devour a fresh box on site, and meet the growing demand from professionals by setting up in a 400 m2 laboratory. It must be said that by supplying many restaurateurs and grocers in Occitanie, the team has gone from artisanal production of "30 to 40 kilos of pasta per month to two tons per month".
A new store opening in July 2024...
Because La Nonna Lina is a real success and the pasta boxes on Place Victor Hugo are a hit, Hugo Salvador, who arrived as an apprentice salesman in the store in October 2020, submitted the idea of opening a business dedicated solely to fresh pasta to take away (or to order directly on Deliveroo).
It is therefore at number 19 rue Sainte-Ursule, behind the Place du Capitole, that the young man now officiates, accompanied by Grégory, the cook. Here, as in the heart of the first address, all the products come from Italy except the ultra-fresh products "which are local", assures us the young partner behind the counter of the restaurant which will undergo, before the start of the school year in September, some transformations (new paint, new decoration, etc.).
… With a deliciously rich and gourmet menu
The hardest part is choosing your dish to compose yourself. On the menu, between €9.50 (for students) and €15 (for the most gourmet): traditional, stuffed or creative pasta, melting gnocchi, lasagna or well-garnished ravioli, without forgetting the famous sauce, "we offer six different sauces", Hugo Salvador tells us.
A complete and entirely homemade meal to be accompanied by a drink and/or a cookie from Oh My Cooks, a company run by two friends from Toulouse and recently set up on Place des Carmes.
