This is a unique experience which has been validated by local residents and the Toulouse town hall: the Saint-Pierre bridge officially gives pride of place to pedestrians and cyclistswhile maintaining a single lane of automobile traffic. A new face for this historic monument of the Pink City.
The Saint-Pierre bridge is getting a makeover
Fewer vehicles = more safety
A new development which aims to guarantee more safety for passers-by and walkers as well as cyclists who are numerous in this Toulouse sector. For greater fluidity, a two-way cycle path will soon be created, in line with the developments already carried out on rue du pont Saint-Pierre, rue de la République and those underway on rue Valade, whose major works have resumed this Monday, January 8.
A place exclusively reserved for pedestrians and cyclists in summer
Despite this preserved traffic lane , the Saint-Pierre bridge will be entirely reserved for pedestrians this summer for a period of 4 months and as has been tradition since 2022. An exclusive pedestrianization which will be accompanied by greening of the bridge and installation of relaxation furniture to allow everyone to enjoy a unique place, transformed for the occasion and overlooking the Garonne.
