The announcement is made, Toulouse will host two stages of a tournament as rock as it is crazy: the Air Guitarchampionship! A first in January at Bear’s House and a second in May at Bikini. The prize is beer, prizes, places for the final at Mirande and lots of laughs!
The art of instrumental playback
Air Guitar is this little gesture made when listening to a good guitar riff, when we mime an electric guitar in our hands... often while biting our lips looking passionate. And what was a mimicry of a bathroom or a delirious crowd during concerts has become a discipline in its own right! Certain amateurs from all over the world have decided that these stage performances played in bedrooms, with headphones on or amplifiers at full blast, deserve a delirious audience with derision in tune.
< p>The first popularization of the practice came from Joe Cocker during Woodstock in 1969, who subsequently made it his signature move. It has since become a dance and theater performance where everything is just good vibes and humor with a first world championship in Finland in 1996.

A very serious Air Guitar tournament
In France, there is the Air Guitar Tour. The 2023 edition saw the coronation of "Frenck Kiss". This year, the qualifications will be carried out in 12 stagesacross France with a playlist of 100 of the best-known songs in the rock repertoire. With even a date at Hellfest for maximum atmosphere!
The final of the competition will be held on Friday August 9 and Saturday August 10 in Mirande, in Gers, during the Kiosqnrock festival. The winner will represent the country at the World Championshipsin Finland, on an expense-paid trip. Maybe this person will be from Toulouse!
Two events in Toulouse and a French champion
Two dates are planned in the Cité des Violettes. Double opportunity to shine, one at Bear's House on Friday January 19and one in the legendary Bikini room on Thursday May 16! If there is not yet much information regarding this last date, the first announcement promises entertainment.
Participants will have to put on their best rock outfit, choose a song that transcends them and will have 60 seconds to impress the jury on the criteria of originality, stage performance and Airness em>(technical quality), with a distinguished guest in the person of Lady Attila, 2022 French champion! Participation is free (a drink is even offered to participants after the performance) and the first two will win their place in the national final as well as small prizes.
