The Cornebarrieu performance hall unveils its new season! For 2024-2025, the Aria is planning performances that will delight fans of dance, comedy and music. From September to May, ballet, concerts, solo performances and plays will be on the agenda.
An audience at the rendezvous last season
Inaugurated in 2017, the Aria can accommodate between 380 and 1,500 people depending on its configuration. A spacious room that reached an occupancy rate of 88% during the 2023-2024 season! "The Aria welcomes a number of spectators that is not weakening, with capacity almost at maximum last year, despite the opening of new venues that are starting to compete" enthuses Alain Toppan, Mayor of Cornebarieu.
It brought together nearly 14,000 spectators: 32 presentations took place, including around ten sold-out performances. "The previous season filled up very quickly, by September the ticket office was almost full" continues Julia Ansola, director of the Aria.
A craze that the performance hall hopes to find again next season. To achieve this, an eclectic program is required! The establishment wants to satisfy different audiences and thus offers shows accessible to the youngest.
"The Aria is a place of diffusion but also of awareness and education in theater"
Many one-man shows
Spectators will be able to enjoy one-man shows of all kinds: love, cosmos, magic, health… Many themes will be addressed with passion, humor and emotion. Mélissa Billard advocates self-acceptance with “Haut les cœurs”, while mentalist Rémi Larrousse, through “Confidences d’un illusionniste”, immerses the audience in the mysteries of the mind. “Va aimer” by Eva Rami raises questions about love and relationships of domination. Finally, Katia Chanty delivers a poignant testimony in “Les frotures du cœur”. She talks about her resilient journey in the face of heart disease.
Shows marked by emotion
The public can already expect a series of intense shows, where each performance will invite them to discover a palette of deep and varied emotions. From touching comedies to vibrant musical performances, the Aria promises some gripping moments.
The public will discover the talent of Sofiane Chalal, choreographer who will perform on stage to challenge the codes of dance. Through a solo full of sensitivity, the dancer with the “out of the ordinary” body will combine the power of hip-hop and the fragility of mime. The 4,211 km play will transport the audience with a moving story, that of a family of Iranian refugees who fight for their freedoms. The Nougaro fans will find with emotion the facial expressions of the great singer through the interpretation of Grégory Montel. Accompanied by accordionist Lionel Suarez (who himself played with Nougaro), the actor will deliver a poetic and musical soliloquy.
So get ready to laugh, to cry, to feel because this new season at the Aria promises to be an ode to emotions!
