Delicacy alert! Following the success of the first address, Mr Madeleine opened a second in the very city center of Toulouse: Mr Madeleine et sa brioche. So it’s twice as many madeleines (and brioches), but also happiness for the taste buds. The Toulouscope editorial staff contacted the owners who offer a taste of madeleine... of Proust to young and old Toulouse residents!
A first address that attracts crowds
< p>Last August, Dorian and Jean-Philippe Roux opened their first boutique located at 30 rue des Filatiers and simply named Mr Madeleine. A shop or rather a bar for artisanal madeleines since the place has a counter open to the street which allows passers-by to directly see the sweets from our childhood arranged behind the window. On the other hand, it is there is no room on site, there is a kitchen in the back of the shop and in which father and son prepare their products every day and on demand: madeleines (so! ) fresh without colorings or preservatives, cannelés (the specialty of Bordeaux) and even brioches with pink pralines from Lyon.Success guaranteed!
Mr Madeleine is developing on the Place du Capitole side
Because customers are meeting you since the opening and they wanted to expand, father and son decided to open a second store – just as delicious as the first. So it was on Thursday March 7 that the news fell on Mr Madeleine's Instagram account: "The adventure continues. Opening of our second store at 7 rue de Rémusat, Toulouse Capitole" they wrote, while revealing the storefront and the name: Mr Madeleine and his brioche.
In this new place near the Capitole, customers young and old can take away their order or sit on the terrace on rue de Rémusat to taste the house specialties (homemade). On the menu (the same as rue des Filatiers), five different tastes for madeleines: the seasonal one (currently, raspberry and pistachio), plain, chocolate, almond or even lemon, and always the canelés and the famous praline brioche roses"which is very popular with customers".
To be enjoyed as a set (from €2) without moderation with a hot or cold drink! And for takeaway boxes (or not), count €4.60 for 6; €8.90 for 12 and €13.90 for 20.
A future menu with… salty tastes!
The family duo - who had to "expand their team" on the sales side - could well prepare a few surprises in the kitchen... "For the moment, we're staying on five flavors that we rotate according to the seasons and in a few weeks, we will be making a range of savory products in the Rémusat store, as well as bubble teas to meet customer demand /em>,” Dorian, the son at the head of this business, told us.
A regressive menu that continues to evolve according to seasonality and demand... to the delight of neighborhood regulars and Mr Madeleine.
