Located in the Gers, the ancient city ELUSA will meet you on June 1st and 2nd 2024 to celebrate nature. A new, fun and archaeological adventure to share with family or friends as part of the national event “Rendez-vous aux jardins”.

ELUSA Capitale Antique is what?
The three sites of ELUSA Ancient Capital are located in the Gascon lands, in the heart of the Pays d'Armagnac, in the Gers department, less than 2 hours from Toulouse . The place, created in 2010, is thus made up of a unique Gallo-Roman ensemble divided into two sites and a museum: the villa of Séviac (country house) which is located near Montreal -du Gers, as well as the domus de Cieutat (at the time of Roman Antiquity, the Domus was an urban artistocratic residence), and the museum archaeological treasure of Eauzein Eauze. A complementary panorama which allows all audiences to immerse themselves in the daily life of a Gallo-Roman city.
For 5 years, when spring comes, ELUSA Capitale Antique celebrates the Roman garden of the Domus, and at the same time, nature as a whole! And for this new national edition, the meeting is set for the weekend of June 1 and 2, 2024.
Conference around sacred plants on June 1
The “Rendez-vous aux jardins” event begins in the Roman Garden of the Domus de Cieutat on Saturday June 1 at 6:30 p.m. with a free conference open to all around the discovery of the sacred plants of the Romans. The two speakers, Pauline Epinoux and Laura Brumont, will allow all participants to share a timeless moment at the crossroads of botany and beliefs Romans.
Story-telling tours, activities and discovery workshops on June 2
On Sunday, from 9:30 a.m., ELUSA Capitale Antique organizes an exceptional 2h15 hike, free and open to all the public, even the less walkers among you. The opportunity to explore the town of Eauze where the water and gardens are the setting for a remarkable heritage!

At 10 a.m., and for 2 hours, all generations will be able to put themselves in the shoes of a falconerby handling and observing birds of prey. For those who wish, the meeting is set in the Domus de Cieutat park.
The day continues, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., a small exploration of the garden: recognizing the song of birds, smelling the scent of flowers or even creating a painting of dried flowers will be on the program for this activity by reservation and open to ages 8 and up. p>
Other activities for children will be planned: a makeup workshop open all day; a thematic visitat 11:30 a.m. (+ 7 years) to admire the domus garden; or a storytelling visitat 2:15 p.m. (+ 5 years old) to set off, with a professional, to discover mythological characters in the heart of the Roman garden.
< p>A unique show to end in style
To close this event organized in the ELUSA archaeological center, a show, mixing waterfalls, battles between Gauls and Romans and humor, is scheduled in the Domus de Cieutat park. Embark from 3:30 p.m. and for 45 minutes, for a great cavalcade to the rhythm of horses and birds of prey! A final activity that will please curious adults and children alike.
