Gaïa is the new restaurant by Antoine Dupont and his associates which opened on March 7, 2024 at the back of a courtyard of a private mansion located on rue Croix-Baragnon in Toulouse. An address that is both chic and warm where everything has been thought of so that the customer is amazed by both the decoration and the food. A real journey (to Greece) for the senses!
An exceptional place steeped in history
"C "It's a private hotel, there is a story in this restaurant, Antoine Dupont really wanted to be at the head of something unusual", informs us a person from the team at the Résidence Baragnon, a unique place belonging to Médiane Event & Travel located above the restaurant.
This is not his first attempt; Antoine Dupont has joined forces with Pierre-Louis Barassi, Thomas Affre and Julien Mas to open a new restaurant called Gaia, the Greek goddess personifying the Earth. Located at the back of a courtyard of a private mansion on rue Croix-Baragnon formerly belonging to Mr. Ozenne, the four friends imagined "a haven where flavors and materials merge to create an unforgettable dining experience."
So, it It is in this place that is both magical and warm that the team opened, last March, this gem with Mediterranean flavors and very carefully decorated decoration.
A varied menu with Mediterranean flavors
In the kitchen, two chefs work lunch and dinner to satisfy the taste buds and pupils of fine gourmets : Alexis Pora and Emma Cazorla, who worked at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris in 2016 or in Australia for 2 years and in Megève in 2020. Two renowned chefs who cook " seasonal and market products," we told the editorial staff of Toulouscope.
On the menu, which will change regularly, we find different products at lunchtime (there is an EPD menu for €26) and in the evening. From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., it is possible to choose between two starters at €13 or €15, four dishes (beef fillet, risotto, rack of veal or salad of young sprouts and burrata) andseveral desserts at €10 in average.
From 7 p.m., the menu is less concise and offers several entries to share (or not) like an XL truffled croque-monsieur for €12 or an XXL burrata for €21. For the rest, you can opt for a plate of pasta for €21, octopus for €27, meat or fish for €28. And to finish with a sweet note, we have the choice between a large pavlova, a gourmet coffee, a Conté pastry, a lemon cream or even a chocolate ganache, the same delicacies as at lunch. p>
> Reserve a table on the sheltered porch, inside or on the terrace
An interior where nothing is left to chance
If the terrace, discreet, elegant and sunny, is sheltered from prying eyes, it remains no less classic. The real surprise is found inside the walls where a quantity of antique and refined objects in warm wood, raw stone and other noble materials from Greece mix in the two adjacent rooms. Scattered on shelves or in bright alcoves, the well-thought-out decoration makes Gaïa a place that is both chic, cozy, friendly and 100% exotic.
Especially since the kitchen is partly open to one of the rooms, allowing you to see the cooks in action live from the large rounded bar in the entrance. Here, nothing is definitely left to chance and everything is done to ensure thatthe customer has an exceptional moment.
With its 60 seats set indoors and its 80 outdoor seats (sheltered porch + terrace), Gaïa is a well-hidden address, but already renowned. The new favorite spot for Toulouse residents?
