Rock, soul, brass bands, psycho-tropical… and the majestic Minotaur Asterion who watches over, imperturbable despite the crowd's cries of joy. This year, for the 6th time, the Halle de la Machine is organizing its famous summer music festival. See you from July 12 to August 31 every Friday and Saturday evening… especially since the event is completely free!
Free concerts… "Halle la belle étoile"
It’s impossible not to find something you like at the concerts of this edition of "Halle Night Long". Indeed, very varied musical genres will be represented in order to please all sensibilities. The stage will be set up in front of the Minotaure Café, at the foot of the giant machine made of leather, wood and steel. Those who want to gain some height (14 meters all the same) will be able to enjoy a ride on the back of the fantastic creature, in the middle of a concert.
To make the fun even better, a guinguette will welcome festival-goers every Friday and Saturday evening. The opportunity to enjoy a refreshment, alcoholic or not, and even to accompany your drink with a plate of skewers. Indeed, you will have to regain your strength in order to dance non-stop for three hours straight, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., right? Especially if you are following up after discovering the "Snow, Wind & Fire" scenography of the Halle de la Machine a little earlier in the afternoon.
Here is the programme…
The festival begins on Friday, July 12 with the unclassifiable musical world of Maddy Street, singer and videographer (Atsé in the opening act), followed the next day by the indie-pop trio I Me Mine. The weekend of July 19-20 will feature voodoo priestess Moonlight Benjamin and tropical cumbia from Trio Vacano. Finally, on Friday July 26, Lille's YMNK will reveal his talents as a synthesizer maker, while Berber rock band Fethi Trab will cast a spell on the stage on Saturday July 27.
August will be even more prolific with no fewer than four weekends of concerts! On August 2, the blues and folk of Zitoune will please guitar and harmonica lovers. The next day, head to Colombia with the group Super Panela. Musical diversity again and again on the weekend of August 9-10, thanks to Pili Pili Cosmic Combo (psycho-tropical) and the groove of Ugo Shake (electric soul).
We continue with rock on August 16 (the Dynamite Shakers) and more electric soul on August 17 (Form). The concert season at the Halle de la Machine will continue in style with the discovery of three emerging artists on August 23, revealed during the Rose Festival of Big Flo and Oli, then by the afro-beat reggae of John Bleck. Finally, on August 30 and 31, you will be entertained by the funny Fanfare de Guitares and thrilled by the "electro-chemical" rock of the trio La Poison!
