From April 25 to 28, Grindhouse Paradise returns for a fifth edition to theAmerican cinema Cosmograph. On the program: film screenings, guests, meetings...All around the fantastic universe!
Genre cinema in honor
The objective of the festival is to highlight a cinema often ignored in cinemas. The Grindhouse Paradise therefore offers feature films ranging from science fiction to horrorincluding fantasy. Casual spectators are just as expected as experienced film buffs to come and discover atypical films from the four corners of the globe: Australia, Germany, Brazil, South Korea... All destinations are explored to surprise spectators. The festival pays particular attention to emerging filmmakersand offers premieresbut also unreleased films. Thus the public will discover the story of vegan zombies(We are Zombies), of a group of sadistic teenagers(The seeding) or even of a Argentinian demonicvirus(When Evil Lurks)...In all, 17 films are scheduled.
Guests passionate about fantasy
Grindhouse Paradise takes advantage of the event to highlight the work of artistswho are inspired by fantasy in their productions. It is through meetings, exhibitions, signings and original creations that spectators will be able to further explore this universe. A total of five guests are expected, among them the Italian director Fabio d'Orta who will be present for the French premiere of his feature film The Complex Form. This tells the story of a strange villa where mysterious entities take possession of human bodies.
The Ombres Blanches bookstore is teaming up with Le Grindhouse Paradise to receive the author and illustrator Geoffroy Monde. He will sign his science fiction story “The voice of Zazar” on Saturday April 27 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the comics section.< /p>
The spectators will present the “Public Prize”
The festival is convinced of the < strong>popular approachto genre cinema, which is why this year again, the publicis invited to present a prize. To do this, spectators vote at the end of each screening of the competing films. This year, there are eight who could potentially win the Public Prize.
