Chez Loustic, a neighborhood bistro with industrial decor and a friendly atmosphere, is now part of the (short) list of Toulouse restaurants that have received the "Bib Gourmand" from the Michelin Guide. We explain what this means in the world of (good and accessible) gastronomy.
And a Bib Gourmand for Toulouse!
The Bib Gourmand gives pride of place to modern bistronomy and in 2024, this distinction from the Michelin Guide rewarded no fewer than 56 addresses in France, including six in Occitanie and one in Toulouse: Chez Loustic. A no-frills restaurant located in the bustling Saint-Cyprien district which is one of those "tasty places that offer a full meal (excluding drinks) for around forty euros – a bargain in these times.", as the famous culinary guide indicates on its website.

A simple but effective menu that changes with the seasons
Run by two chefs, Gabriel Lasserre and Julien Marsaud (who worked for Christian Constant, Thibault Sombardier and many others), Chez Loustic combines tradition and modernity and offers market cuisine designed and prepared with fresh, seasonal produce. To respect seasonality and temporality, the menu therefore changes every week but offers, each time, a vegetarian option, a fish and a meat for the starter and the main course.
"A finely prepared market cuisine, sensitive even and very healthy in its compositions.", noted the Michelin Guide.
On the drinks side, the wine list mainly highlights independent winemakers from neighboring wine regions and signature cocktails are also to be enjoyed (in moderation). Something to treat yourself without breaking the bank since the lunch menu (Tuesday to Friday) Starter / Main course or Main course / Dessert is €20 and Starter / Main course / Dessert is €23.
Other Toulouse addresses awarded the Bib Gourmand
You may not have known, but four other restaurants in the Ville Rose and of the same ilk have received a Bib Gourmand in previous years: L'Air de Famille (6 rue Jules-Chalande), Cécile (43 place des Carmes), Cartouches (38 rue Pierre-Paul-Riquet), Une Table à Deux (10 rue de la Pleau).
A little further away, L'équilibre (10 place de la Libération in Balma), La Table de Laurent (28 rue Jacques-Prévert in Ramonville-Saint-Agne), La Table d'Auzeville (35 chemin de l'Église in Auzeville-Tolosane) and L'Instant (13-14 chemin du Logis-Vieux in Montrabé) have also obtained their place.
