It is on the Allées Charles de Fitte, opposite the Jardin des Abattoirs, that Café Calm opened. The place is also a boutique and a workshop! You can come for a gourmet interlude, an session of artistic expression or for a shopping session.
Managers passionate about art and cooking
The place is founded by Leslie Drigo and Jean-Baptiste Darrigrand. The co-manager is responsible for the concept store and the art workshops. A fan of drawing and painting, she invites artists at heart, adults and children, to come and explore their creativity, all in a kind atmosphere. “The idea is to create a space where people can come and learn about art, but not only that,” she explains.
Jean-Baptiste, for his part, is in charge of the coffee shop and the restaurant. Former chef of a café bistro in Montreal, he brought back with him flavors and know-how from across the Atlantic.
Homemade dishes and pastries
On the menu at Café Calm, you will find gourmet and elaborate drinks such as Chaï Latte or Mochaccino, but also refreshing options ranging from iced tea to smoothies. A daily special is also offered. “I go to the market every morning to select fresh and seasonal products. It is from the ingredients that I find that I compose the sweet and savory recipes,” explains Jean-Baptiste. Salads, quiches, tarts, soups, there is something for everyone. With the “like at home” menu at 16 euros, the most gourmet can accompany their lunch with a pastry. Here too, there is plenty to choose from: creamy desserts, cakes, biscuits, etc.

Creative workshops for everyone
“Free expression sessions are offered with themes that change every week” says Leslie. Open to everyone from 6 years old, the workshops she runs welcome both novice artists and seasoned painters! Awakening sessions for babies from 0 to 3 years old are also offered. Adults and children are invited to come and take a pencil and explore themes such as traveling around the world, dreams and fantasy, emotions in color and many others. All through different techniques: clay, ballpoint pen drawing, collective frescoes, land art…
The youngest can also take part in courses during the summer holidays. On the program, artistic exploration from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the possibility of enjoying a chef's meal for the lunch break. The goal is to provide a safe environment while introducing children to art in a fun way!
A clothing, decoration, accessories store...
The place has a boutique area where you can find colorful decorative objects, costume jewelry, and even textiles. “The majority of the items come from European countries like Italy or Spain. There are also cosmetics made in France.”
Leslie also sells some of her artistic creations such as watercolor paintings.
