Literature lovers, take note... The Gourmets de Lettres fair, hosted by the prestigious Académie des Jeux Floraux, will take place on September 27, 28, 29 in the Clémence Isaure room at the Hôtel d'Assézat. An event as epic as it is bookish not to be missed at the start of the 2024 school year.
In the heart of the most prestigious hotel in Toulouse
It is the favorite event of the literary people of Toulouse: the Salon des Gourmets de Lettres, placed since its origin under the aegis of the Académie des Jeux Floraux, returns for a 19th edition from September 27 to 29, 2024.
As in previous years, visitors will be welcomed, freely and free of charge, in the Clémence Isaure room of the prestigious Hôtel d’Assézat, listed as a historic monument and located in the heart of the Pink City.
Around forty authors present
"I am very happy to participate in the Salon des Gourmets des Lettres in Toulouse, this city where I studied, made friends, frequented the cafés, conversed endlessly, regularly visited one of the most beautiful French bookstores, and this, at a time when I was not yet writing. The idea of meeting her once again and meeting the Toulouse public on this occasion delights me.", Lydie Salvayre for the 2024 Book Fair.
For the occasion, around forty authors from the Occitanie region and all over France will be present to exchange and sign their works. Poetry, novels, comics, short stories, thrillers, youth, biography, essays...
Lydie Salvayre, writer, winner of the 2014 Goncourt Prize, patron and guest of honor for the 2024 season, will take the time to talk with the public on Saturday 28 in the afternoon around her latest work We have always loved Sundays (Seuil).
Conferences, private concert and workshops for children
Like every year, the fair will also offer new and fun workshops for children, a private concert with Bad Boy scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m.
During the three bookish days, numerous conferences on diverse and varied themes will also be accessible to all: the paths of St Jacques de Compostelle, memories of a soldier, San Antonio hosted by Michel Bergnes, anorexia… There will be something for all ages, all tastes and all schedules.
The (young) talents rewarded
The presentation of the various prizes awarded by the association Les Gourmets de Lettres will take place on Saturday 28th from 11am.
