A bike ride open to all in the Pyrenees, the Passéjade is a sporting and festive experience not to be missed!

A bike ride open to all in the Pyrenees, the Passéjade is a sporting and festive experience not to be missed!

A breathtaking sporting experience! Organized as part of the famous Ariégeoise cyclosportive (like the Mountagnole and the Rapaillou), the Passéjade, the Passéjad'ELEC and Elles fait l'Ariégeoise are non-timed hikes accessible to all levels . Meet on Saturday June 29 in Ariège to take part, and before embarking on this adventure with a view of the Pyrenees, here is all the information you need to know!

La Passéjade, what is it?

La Passéjade is an untimed hike of 53 km with an elevation gain of 1255 m organized on June 29, 2024 from Tarascon in Ariège. Unlike its big sisters (the Ariégeoise and its 142 km timed, the Mountagnole and its 117 km timed and the Rapaillou and 63 km timed), the Passéjade is aimed at runners of all levels, experienced or novice .

"We have a lot of novice cyclists, who practice irregularly, and who want to discover new territories without having a notion of performance", confirms Patrice Vidal, the President of the Ariégeoise Cycloclub association.

This exceptional hike is therefore done within the framework of the Ariégeoise with the same departure (but at a different time different) and offers the same advantages: a unique route, entertainment, a memorable atmosphere and the euphoria of the event which has no less than 4,000 participants.< /p>

A cycling trip suitable for everyone

"It's a hike that we particularly like, which allows for as many people as possible to participate in the Ariégeoise festival!", Patrice Vidal

Accessible from 12 years old (accompanied by a tutor) and 16 years old without a tutor, this adventure in the Pyrenees is also open to electric bike owners and in this case, "it's the same circuit, since there is no time or stopwatch issue ", and the women's bike is not forgotten. Indeed, "Elles fait l'Ariegeoise is a circuit for women because many women did not want to leave with too large a peloton, so they leave 10 minutes before", Patrice Vidal explained to us < strong>about women.

An accessible course and an arrival with great fanfare

For this 2024 edition , Passéjade participants are plunged directly into the deep end, because even if the route remains accessible and pleasant to ride, "the first hill starts after 6 km": the Village of Cazenave, the first pass of the day (Pas de Souloumbrié, at 911 m), the "route des corniches" or the other passes Marmare and Chioula at 4% average... Until the descent and the finish to the Ax 3 Domaines cable cars unlike the Ariégeoise runners who arrive at the resort, at an altitude of 1400 meters.

"La Passéjade will amaze you with its route favoring the panorama"

After more than 50 kilometers of exercise in the mountains and through the beautiful villages of the region, participants will be able to take the cable car for free with their bike to join the official arrival of the Ariégeoise. The opportunity to "participate together in the party, where there is the meal and the awards ceremony"

A festive launch for young and old

Since 2023 and again this year to launch the 28th season of this cyclosportive event, "we are offering an event called la Foll'Ariégeoise during which young and old, disguised or not, special bikes or not..." can participate and spice up the pre-race. See you in family or friends on Friday June 28 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a 100% fun and crazy moment!
